TIPS WHICH HELPED ME GET THROUGH INDIAN LIBERAL ARTS COLLEGES LIKE KREA, SYMBIOSIS, AHMEDABAD, AND MORE!!!—

So recently I did get many questions from peers and juniors on how I got through colleges like Krea, Symbiosis, and Ahmedabad, along with other colleges like Vidyashilp. So here are a few steps I did in order to maximise ways to get into the colleges

- APPLY EARLY
Guys, please PLEASE APPLY EARLY!!! Usually, universities conduct around 4 to 5 rounds, maybe 6. However that does not mean you should apply in the later rounds because of "there is no need to" or "I'll do it after boards". NO. Applying early is the BEST way to secure yourself a seat. The earlier you apply, the higher will be the chance for you to claim that seat. Even universities themselves have said that most applicants are selected in the first rounds itself.
However,I will not sugar coat this. It will be difficult, considering board projects and pre-boards, BUT, it is not impossible. It can be done. All it takes is a bit of extra effort and a good schedule to avoid being over burdened.
- USE A.I WISELY
Yes Yes. You read correctly, I did say it, USE A.I WISELY. Please do not take it as "Oh let's craft the entire sop or personal essay with chat gpt". N O. Universities do check if you. Instead use it to give you suggestions on how to make the essay better or ask it to check for any grammar errors.
Use Quillbot over Grammarly as it has the option to give you suggestions in British English ( Grammarly gives in American) and it is also free. You can also ask Chat gpt to give you a format for your B.R.A.G Sheet, which is basically a list of all your achievements, personal goals, grades and personality. A good and formatted B.R.A.G sheet will help you get you a well-written letter of recommendation to provide to colleges.
- YOUR PERSONAL ESSAY WILL BE THE TICKET TO ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION
This is a slightly controversial take as many people do think that a personal essay is not as important as your extra curriculars. While extracurriculars are important, no doubt, your personal essay does hold a lot of weight as well. Do remember, the college DOES NOT KNOW YOU. They only know you through your application. Thus a well-written personal essay can save you if you do not have any extra curriculars or not so good grades.
- KEEP QUESTIONS READY FOR THE INTERVIEWER
Many Universities do expect you to have a few questions for them. They ask this in the interview and this can put off many candidates as they probably did not expect this. Thus a tip here is to go through the website of the university and keep 2 to 3 questions max ready for the interviewer. Remember, the colleges will be judging you on how well you can interact with others on campus, and keeping the interaction two sided is extremely important to better your chances to get into the college.
- ADVERTISE YOURSELF
This is probably my most important pointer before even applying. Guys, many colleges like Krea, Ashoka, FLAME, Symbiosis etc hold Open Houses and meetings online and offline. Attending these Open Houses will not only help you gain information about the college and the course you wish to take, it will also give you a chance to interact with the faculty members, or admissions officers as well. Summer Programs as well are really good ways you can advertise yourself to the college along with gauging how the college really is.
Your interactiosn by asking questions or attending these courses will make the college notice you as well.
